Ypsilanti — Willie Magnum IV scored 16 Tuesday night and Eastern Michigan romped to a 73-62 Mid-American Conference victory over Western Michigan.

James Thompson IV scored 14, and Ty Toney and Raven Lee 13 apiece for the Eagles (15-13, 7-8).

The Eagles led 31-28 at halftime and by as many as 17 in the second half.

Drake LaMont scored 13 for the Broncos (11-17, 5-10).

Big Ten men

(At) Minnesota 83, Rutgers 61: Jordan Murphy had 19 points and 14 rebounds and Minnesota dropped Rutgers to 0-14 in the Big Ten. Joey King had 15 points and seven rebounds and Dupree McBrayer had 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Golden Gophers (8-19, 2-13), who have won two straight conference games after an 0-13 start. The Gophers picked up their first Big Ten win with a victory over then-No. 6 Maryland last week.

D.J. Foreman had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Bishop Daniels scored 12 points for Rutgers (6-22). The Scarlet Knights turned it over 21 times and have lost 30 straight Big Ten games.

Michigan 70, (at) Northwestern 65: Hallie Thome scored 22, Katelynn Flannery 17 and Sierra Thompson 13 for Michigan (16-11, 8-8 Big Ten).

Top 25 men

No. 2 Kansas 66, (at) No. 19 Baylor 60: Frank Mason III scored 19 and Landen Lucas had the tiebreaking layup for Kansas (24-4, 12-3).

The Jayhawks won their eighth straight, and moved closer to a 12th consecutive Big 12 title.

Al Freeman led Baylor (20-8, 9-6) with 17 points.

(At) No. 16 Kentucky 78, Alabama 53: Jamal Murray scored 23, and Tyler Ulis had 19 points and 10 assists for Kentucky (21-7, 11-4 Southeastern Conference).

Retin Obasohan scored 29 for the Crimson Tide (16-11, 7-8).
