College hockey ref dies from injuries sustained in fall
Oliver “Butch” Mousseaux, a college hockey referee, died Friday, a week after getting injured in a fall while working at the Western Collegiate Hockey Association tournament last weekend in Grand Rapids.
Mousseaux, 48, who lived in Colorado but was originally from Grosse Pointe Park, fell and hit his head on the ice before the Ferris State-Michigan Tech game at Van Andel Arena. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.
Mousseaux was put into a medically induced coma after suffering swelling of his brain.
