Report: Western's P.J. Fleck not offered interview with Oregon

Western Michigan head coach P.J. Fleck is reportedly only interested in a position involving  schools in Power Five conferences.

The boat might stay anchored in Kalamazoo after all.

Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck has been a hot coaching name after leading the undefeated Broncos to a Mid-American Conference championship and a Cotton Bowl berth,

But Fleck was not granted an interview with Oregon, according to The Oregonian, and the other openings at schools in Power Five conferences have been filled.

Houston and Cincinnati are looking for head coaches but Fleck reportedly is not interested in those jobs.

When Cincinnati inquired about Fleck, Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com reported, the school was told Fleck would only speak to Power Five schools.

“P.J. is not in play here,” a Cincinnati official told Dodd.

Two Power Five jobs were filled in the last two days. Purdue hired Western Kentucky coach Jeff Brohm on Monday and Baylor hired Temple coach Matt Rhule.
