'GameDay' ranks clever WMU sign No. 3 for 2016
Arlington, Texas -- Western Michigan is becoming quite used to being in the rankings, after cracking them for the first time in program history earlier this season, and rising to 12th, 14th and 15th in the latest Associated Press, coaches' and College Football Playoff polls, respectively.
But when it comes to ESPN, the Broncos are on an even higher level.
ESPN's "College GameDay" is slowly rolling out its top 10 signs that appeared on camera during the cast and crew's visit to campuses across the country in 2016.
And a Western Michigan sign checked in at No. 3 on Friday morning.
The sign, seemingly on a marquee at a convenience store, reads: "ESPN IS HERE; ACT SOBER."
ESPN made a rare stop at a Mid-American Conference campus Nov. 19, when it visited Kalamazoo for the Western Michigan-Buffalo game at Waldo Stadium.
Thousands braved the frigid temperatures and snow flurries to watch the live three-hour morning show. Western Michigan beat Bufffalo, 38-0, to improve to 11-0.
The Broncos now are 13-0 after the MAC championship victory over Ohio, heading into Monday afternoon's Cotton Bowl against Wisconsin (10-3) at AT&T Stadium.
