Wolverines win shootout from Spartans

Patrick Khodorenko scored at 10:40 of the third period to gain Michigan State a 2-2 tie with visiting Michigan in a Big ten hockey game Saturday night, but Cooper Marody’s shootout goal gave Michigan the extra point.

Dylan Pavelek scored in the first period for Michigan State (5-15-2, 1-6-1), and Nolan De Jong and Alex Kile scored for Michigan (8-12-2-1, 1-6-2-1).

Ed Minney made 23 saves for the Spartans and Zach Nagelvoort made 25 saves for the Wolverines.
