Monday's basketball: Detroit Mercy women win on Senior Night

Detroit — Brianne Cohen scored 20 points Monday night, and seniors Haleigh Ristovski and Rosanna Reynolds combined for 33 points as Detroit Mercy beat Wright State, 85-80, on Senior Night at Calihan Hall.

Ristovski scored 17, Reynolds 16 and Kelsey Mitchell, Detroit Mercy’s other senior, scored 10. Nicole Urbanick also scored 10 for the Titans (15-12, 11-5 Horizon League).

(At) Oakland 86, Northern Kentucky 66: Taylor Jones scored 21, senior Hannah Little had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Leah Sommerfield scored 15 for Oakland (16-11, 10-6 Horizon). Senior Nola Anderson scored 10 on Senior Night.

No 12 West Virginia 77, Texas 62:  Bob Huggins fell to his knees and clutched his chest during a scary moment just before halftime.West Virginia players picked up their coach, got him to the bench and made his job easier by maintaining a comfortable lead the rest of the way. Jevon Carter had 24 points and Lamont West had a career-high 23 for the Mountaineers  (22-6, 10-5 Big 12). Huggins said his defibrillator went off, but he returned to coach in the second half and finished the game.  "It goes off and what it is, it just shocks your heart back into rhythm,” said Huggins, 63, who suffered a heart attack in 2002 when was coach at Cincinnati.  Jarrett Allen led the Longhorns (10-18, 4-11) with 17 points.

Miami 54, (at) No. 18 Virginia 48, OT: Bruce Brown scored 14, including a three-pointer with 23.8 seconds left that won it for Miami (19-8, 9-6 Atlantic Coast Conference). Devon Hall scored 15 for Virginia (18-9, 8-7), which has lost four in a row.

(At) No. 19 Florida State 104, Boston College 72: Dwayne Bacon scored 16 and went over the 1,000-point mark for his career for Florida State (22-6, 10-5 ACC).
