Oddsmakers see Michigan and Michigan State as equally capable of winning the NCAA men’s basketball championship.
NCAA Tournament odds by VegasInsider.com list the Wolverines and Spartans both at 8-1. They are both No. 3 seeds -- Michigan in the West Region and MSU in the Midwest Region.
That’s tied for the fourth-best odds in the field, behind Villanova and Virginia (both 5-1), and Duke (6-1).
The Wolverines (28-7) open NCAA play Thursday at 9:50 p.m. against Montana in Wichita, Kan. The Spartans (29-4) begin play Friday at 7:10 p.m. against Bucknell at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
