Saturday's state football: Jayru Campbell's 4 TDs lead Ferris State in romp

Jayru Campbell ran for three TDs and passed for another to lead to No. 6 Ferris State in a 53-10 thrashing of Northwood on Saturday in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football game.
Campbell (Detroit Cass Tech) scored on runs of 1, 2 an 1 yards while linking with Keyondre Craig on a 39-yard scoring strike while racking up 255 yards on 10 of 16 passing in Ferris State's third straight win.
Derrick Portis also scored on runs of 22 and 38 yards for the Bulldogs (3-0), who piled up 606 yards in total offense, 349 rushing.
Joey Clifford scored on a 7-yard run and David Riser had a 27-yard field goal for Northwood (0-3).

No. 5 Grand Valley State 47, (at) Northern Michigan 14: Bart Williams was 17-of-28 for 280 yards passing, including four TDs as the Lakers (3-0) remain unbeaten. Nick Dodson had TD catches of 22 and 28 yards and Jack Provencher scored from 20 yards and added an 8-yard scoring reception for Grand Valley. Jake Mayon and Latrell Giles had rushing TDs for Northern (1-2).
Ashland 30, (at) Wayne State 21: Andrew Vaughn scored on runs of 4 and 30 yards while Satchel Denton added field goals from 32, 28 and 19 yards for Ashland (1-2, 1-0 GLIAC). Darece Roberson had TD catches of 30 and 27 yards for Wayne State (1-2, 0-1). WSU quarterback Jake AmRhein also found Steven Glenn for a 5-yard TD with 9 seconds left in the first half to tie it at 14-all.
Davenport 23, (at) Michigan Tech 21: Keion Powers and Haiden Majewski linked up on scoring plays of 68 and 12 yards — the latter with 10 seconds left — as Davenport (3-0) rallied from an 11-point deficit. James Henderson's 3-yard run gave Michigan Tech (2-1) a 21-10 lead with 7:30 remaining before Majewski found Powers on 68-yard scoring play three minutes later. A two-point conversion pass failed.
(At) Saginaw Valley State 21, Truman State 20: Chad Gailliard scored on a 2-yard pass from Ryan Conklin with 15 seconds left to lift the Cardinals (3-0) past the visitors. Conklin scored on runs of 5 and 3 yards for Saginaw Valley, which erased a 13-point deficit in the final quarter. Jordan Salima scored on runs of 12 and 6 yards for Truman State (0-3).
