MSU 10th, Michigan 18th in preseason coaches’ poll

Michigan State is ranked No. 10 and Michigan is No. 18 in the USA Today preseason coaches’ poll, released Thursday.
The Spartans were also ranked No. 10 in the AP preseason poll, released Monday, while the Wolverines were No. 19.
The Spartans, 30-5 last season, have an exhibition game against Northern Michigan on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Breslin Center before opening the regular season against Kansas in the Champions Classic in Indianapolis (Nov. 6, 7 p.m.).
Kansas is ranked No. 1 in the AP poll and the coaches’ poll.

The Wolverines, who finished 33-8 last season, with a loss to Villanova in the national championship game, play an exhibition game against Northwood on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Crisler Center. Their season opener is Nov. 6 at 8:30 p.m. at home against Norfolk State.
