Ready, set, tip!

College basketball season is right around the corner, and the expectations for our state's Big Two — Michigan and Michigan State — remain sky high, with both ranked in the preseason top 25.

There also are some local mid-majors looking to make a surprising push onto the March dance card.

The season officially gets under way for Michigan and Michigan State on Nov. 6, with the Wolverines hosting Norfolk State and the Spartans taking on powerhouse Kansas in Indianapolis.

So there's still some time to get up to speed on your favorite local team.
