Michigan State dropped one spot and Michigan went up on spot in the latest Associated Press college-basketball polls, unveiled Monday.

The Spartans (1-1), who opened the season with a loss to then-No. 1 Kansas, fell to No. 11 from No. 10.

The Wolverines (2-0), with victories over Nortolk State and Holy Cross, went up to No. 18 from No. 19.

There's a new top team, with Duke leapfrogging Kansas and two others after its blowout victory over Kentucky. Kansas, Gonzaga, Virginia and Tennessee round out the top five.

Kentucky fell to No. 10 from No. 2.

Villanova (2-0), which hosts Michigan on Wednesday in a rematch of the national-championship game, is up to No. 8 from No. 9.
