Michigan improved to No. 16 and Michigan State dropped out of the Top 25 in this week's Associated Press college football poll and in the Amway coaches' poll.

Both polls were released Sunday.

The Wolverines (4-1, 2-1 Big Ten) survived against Iowa, 10-3, and Michigan State (4-2, 2-1) was overpowered by Ohio State, 34-10.

Last week, Michigan was No. 19 in the AP poll and No. 18 in the coaches' poll. MSU was tied for 25th in the AP poll and tied for 23rd in the coaches' poll.

In the new AP poll, Ohio State and Georgia are tied at No. 3 and Florida surged to No. 7 after a big victory over Auburn. No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Clemson held their spots after a week off for both, but the Buckeyes caught up to the Bulldogs.

In the coaches’ poll, the top three teams maintained their positions, as No. 3 Georgia crushed Tennessee. Ohio State jumped over Oklahoma to No. 4, sending the Sooners to No. 5.
