Saturday's state basketball: Detroit Mercy, Central Michigan fall in non-league contests

Toledo, Ohio – JT Shumate had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lift Toledo to an 81-73 win over Detroit on Saturday night.

Ryan Rollins had 19 points for Toledo (2-0). RayJ Dennis added 13 points. Ra’Heim Moss had 11 points.

Kevin McAdoo tied a career high with 23 points for the Titans (0-2). Antoine Davis added 21 points and six rebounds. Madut Akec had 15 points and seven rebounds.

(At) DePaul 99, Central Michigan 66: Javon Freeman-Liberty and Brandon Johnson scored 22 points each for DePaul. Johnson also had eight rebounds.

Philmon Gebrewhit had 15 points and six rebounds for DePaul (2-0). David Jones added 14 points and nine rebounds.

Aundre Polk had 11 points for the Chippewas (0-2). Jermaine Jackson Jr. added 10 points. Brian Taylor had 10 points.
