West Lafayette, Ind. — Purdue sophomore defensive end Gelen Robinson has been arrested for operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent or higher and illegal possession of an alcoholic beverage.

The Lafayette Journal and Courier reports the 20-year-old Robinson was booked in the Tippecanoe Jail early Saturday and later released.

Gelen Robinson is the son of former Purdue basketball great Glenn Robinson and the brother of former Michigan basketball standout Glenn Robinson III, currently with the Philadelphia 76ers.

County Purdue spokesman Matt Rector says head coach Darrell Hazell is aware of the situation.

Gelen Robinson entered a diversion agreement last August after being cited for minor consumption by Purdue University police.

Robinson appeared in 11 games last season, recording 20 tackles, including two sacks. He joined the wrestling and track teams following football season.

Hazell last year suspended safety Taylor Richards for two games following an offseason alcohol-related arrest.
