Stewart Mandel of Fox Sports predicts that Ohio State will overcome challenges by Michigan and Michigan State to win the Big Ten East, as well as the conference championship game over Iowa.

Mandel sees Michigan finishing in second in the East with a 7-2 record (10-2 overall), with the Buckeyes going 8-1 and 10-2.

Mandel: “The Wolverines will play tough, disciplined football in Jim Harbaugh’s second season but aren’t loaded with top-end talent like the Buckeyes.”

Michigan State and Penn State will tie for third, Mandel says, with 6-3 records. He sees the Spartans going 8-4 overall.

“The Spartans will miss QB Connor Cook and take a slight step back in 2016,” he says, “but not without producing another stellar Mark Dantonio defense.”
