Michigan's Rashan Gary, Michigan State's Brian Lewerke earn Big Ten preseason honors

Chicago — Michigan defensive end Rashan Gary and Michigan State quarterback Brian Lewerke have earned Big Ten preseason honors.
The announcement was made Monday ahead of the annual Big Ten media days. A media panel selected five players each from the East and West divisions.
Lewerke is coming off a season in which he threw for 2,793 yards and 20 touchdowns, with seven interceptions. He completed 59 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 559 yards (4.5 yards per carry), which ranked second on the team, and five more touchdowns.
The 6-foot-5, 281-pound Gary had 67 total tackles last season, 12 for a loss, including six sacks. His seven quarterback hurries led the team.
Ohio State landed two players on the list — defensive end Nick Bosa and running back J.K. Dobbins. Penn State senior quarterback Trace McSorley was a unanimous selection.
