East Lansing — Michigan State junior center Jack Allen did not practice Tuesday and is being classified as day to day, co-offensive coordinator Jim Bollman said Wednesday.

Allen injured his left ankle in last week's victory over Purdue and could be held out for No. 8 Michigan State's matchup with Indiana on Saturday with the showdown with Michigan coming the following week.

But Bollman also emphasized Allen's ultimate status would be decided in the final few days of practice this week.

Allen had started 15 straight games before missing the Wyoming game with an undisclosed injury. If he does not play, he'll likely be replaced in the starting lineup by fifth-year senior Connor Kruse. That would move junior Donavon Clark from right tackle to right guard and put sophomore Kodi Kieler back in as the starting right tackle.

Fifth-year senior Travis Jackson, the left guard, and true freshman Brian Allen also have played center this season and could see time there again on Saturday.
