The Detroit News

Michigan State improved two spots to No. 10 and Florida State is the new No. 1 team in this week's Associated Press college football poll.

Alabama beat last week's No. 1 team, Mississippi State, 25-20 and took over the No. 2 spot in the poll. Oregon remained No. 3 and Mississippi State fell to No. 4. TCU and Baylor round out the top six.

The Seminoles and Marshall, both 10-0, are the only undefeated teams remaining in the AP Top 25. Florida State beat Miami, 30-26, on Saturday night.

The Spartans (8-2), who won at Maryland, 37-15, play their final home game of the season on Saturday at noon against Rutgers.
