Cole Chewins has had a change of heart. And the Michigan State football teams stands to benefit.
Chewins, a 6-foot-8, 230-pound offensive and defensive lineman from Clarkston, committed Thursday night to play for the Spartans next season, after initially committing to Miami (Ohio).
"I would like to thank Miami, Coach (Chuck) Martin, Coach (Pat) Welsh, and the rest of the Miami staff for the support and opportunity to conitinue my football career," Chewins tweeted. "However, I have decided to commit and continue my career at Michigan State University! Go green!"
Chewins, a Detroit News Dream Team member and No. 14 on The News' Blue Chip list, helped Clarkston win the Division 1 state championship this fall.
