Oddsmaker: MSU 25-1, UM 40-1 to win national championship

The Detroit News

A Las Vegas bookmaker puts Michigan State at 25-to-1 odds to win the College Football FBS Championship and has Spartan quarterback Connor Cook at 20 to 1 to win the Heisman Trophy.

Michigan comes in at 40 to 1 to win the national title.

Ohio State, at 7-2, is the favorite to repeat as national champions, according to bovada.lv.

Florida State has seen the biggest shift in odds, especially when former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson announced his transfer there, Bovada sportsbook manager Kevin Bradley said.

"When rumors starting flying around of Golson going to FSU their odds dropped steadily down from 33-1 to 25-1, and once those rumors were confirmed we saw another influx of FSU bets dropping them to 12-1," Bradley said. "This addition puts FSU in the top five in odds, but they are still distant to favorite Ohio State at 7-2 who have taken more money than any other team"
