The Michigan State football team has high expectations for next season and, according to NFL.com, the Spartans are going to look good trying to meet them.

The Spartans' "Mach Speed" alternate helmets are No. 2 on the site's list of the best alternate uniforms for the 2015 season, which was unveiled Tuesday. The list is part of NFL.com's "15 for '15" series previewing the college football season.

"No, this is Sparta," College Football 24/7's Bryan Fischer wrote. "Nike threw back to the days of ancient warfare by incorporating a great bronze look with the normal Michigan State logo for this fantastic helmet that, to quote PR materials, was inspired by shields and the phalanx battle formation."

Michigan State's spot on the list is sandwiched between Oregon, which owns the Nos. 1 and 3 on the list — no surprise given the Ducks seem to have the market cornered on alternate uniforms.

Michigan State, coming off an 11-win season that included a Cotton Bowl victory and a No. 5 national ranking, plays host to defending national runner-up Oregon on Sept. 12 in East Lansing in a rematch of last season's game won by the Ducks, 46-27, in Eugene.

Sounds like it could be a good-looking matchup.
