Contracts for Michigan State coaches Tom Izzo, Suzy Merchant and Tom Anastos, as well as athletic director Mark Hollis, were extended one year Wednesday by the university's Board of Trustees.

Izzo, the men's basketball coach, was extended to June 30, 2021; Merchant (women's basketball) to June 30, 2019; Anastos (ice hockey) to June 30, 2018; and Hollis to June 30, 2019.

It's not known if their contracts were extended at their current salaries, but their base salaries for the 2014 fiscal year were: Hollis, $616,500; Izzo, $399,078; Merchant, $387,175; and Anastos, $247,130.

Izzo, who has been MSU's head coach since 1995, was the fifth-highest paid men's basketball coach in the nation at just over $4 million annually, according to USA Today.

Coaches earning more in total compensation during the contract year that covered the 2014-15 season were Kentucky's John Calipari ($6.4 million), Duke's Mike Krzyzewski ($6 million), Louisville's Rick Pitino ($6 million) and Kansas' Bill Self ($5 million).
