Shilique Calhoun and Lawrence Thomas could spell double trouble for Michigan State's opponents this season.

The seniors make up's fifth-ranked defensive lineman tandem in college football, unveiled Wednesday as part of its College Football 24/7 section.

Calhoun led the Spartans in sacks last season with eight, and tied for the team lead in tackles for loss with 12.5. Thomas, a Detroit Renaissance product, added three sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss.

"Calhoun didn't have his best year in 2014 but was still very, very productive," wrote Bryan Fischer of "The second-team All-American returned to school for his senior season and figures to battle Ohio State's Joey Bosa for just about every defensive line award ... nationally.

"Calhoun has a tremendous teammate in Thomas, who moved around during his first few years in East Lansing (he played fullback as a sophomore) but has turned into a monster as of late. His ability to play both inside and outside creates a matchup nightmare and his quickness should help improve his sack total even more."

Bosa and teammate Adolphus Washington were ranked second, behind Shawn Oakman and Andrew Billings of Baylor.
