Cincinnati K Matthew Coghlin picks MSU
Matthew Coghlin, a 5-10, 180-pound kicker from Cincinnati Moeller, on Tuesday night wrote on Twitter that he had committed to Michigan State.
Coghlin, who had also been offered by Illinois, is a 2016 recruit, but could be a greyshirt recruit at MSU.
"Matthew spoke with Coach (Mark) Dantonio and Coach (Mike) Tressel at length (Tuesday) by phone," Matthew's father, Mark Coghlin, told Dave Berk of Scout.com. "As of right now the scholarship offer is a greyshirt but could be a full one depending upon what happens."
If he accepts the greyshirt offer, Coghlin would pay his own tuition for at least one semester at MSU.
Coghlin was 17-for-27 on field goals and 35-for-36 on extra points for Moeller last season.
