The Detroit News

Michigan State received plenty of respect in the current NFL mock drafts posted by draft experts Rob Rang and Dane Brugler. Both had three Spartans going in the first round next year.

Rang had quarterback Connor Cook going sixth to the Texans and Brugler has him going ninth to Washington. Both teams currently have Spartans as their starters — Kirk Cousins at Washington and Brian Hoyer at Houston.

Rang has offensive tackle Jack Conklin going 19th to Buffalo and Brugler has him 26th to Carolina.

Rang has defensive end Shilique Calhoun at No. 26 to the Panthers, while Brugler has Calhoun going 30th to the Cardinals.

Both men have Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa going No. 1 to the Lions.
