Cook returns as starting QB for Michigan State
East Lansing – Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook was listed as the starter for Saturday's 3:30 p.m. kickoff against Penn State.
Cook, who missed last week's game at Ohio State with an injured right shoulder, was a game-time decision and went through warm-ups with more zip on his passes than he had last week in Columbus.
He had a streak of 36 straight starts ended when he was unable to go last week as junior Tyler O'Connor stepped in and shared time with sophomore Damion Terry.
Cook, one of 24 seniors on the roster, told ESPN earlier in the day he planned to play on Senior Day.
If Michigan State (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten) beats Penn State, it will win the East Division of the Big Ten and head to next week's conference championship game against Iowa in Indianapolis.
