"I'm tired of being the underdog," MSU coach Tom Izzo said.

Michigan State remained the No. 1 team in this week's Associated Press college basketball poll, released Monday.

The Spartans (13-0) played just one game last week and got past Oakland in overtime, 99-93, in a game played at The Palace.

The Spartans open Big Ten play Tuesday night at Iowa at 9 p.m.

MSU, just as in last week's poll, earned 64 of 65 first-place votes in the poll. No. 2 Kansas earned one first-place vote.
