Reporter apologizes for saying Corley’s Ann Arbor-bound

Detroit King star Donnie Corley committed to Michigan State on Saturday.

Lewis Johnson, NBC’s sideline reporter for Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl apologized Sunday to Michigan State fans on Twitter.

“Big apologies to the @MSU_Football fam if I mis-spoke today. Impossible to be mistake-free in 20 yrs of “live” TV,” Johnson tweeted.

Johnson interviewed Detroit King receiver Donnie Corley after he committed to Michigan State. During the interview. Johnson said, “You’ve got a couple of your former teammates here with you. Are you excited to be joining them in Ann Arbor?”

Of Corley’s former teammates, safety Demetric Vance is a Michigan State commit and cornerback Lavert Hill is undecided. MSU and Michigan are among his final schools.
