MSU's Valentine wins second straight Big Ten award

East Lansing – For the second straight week, Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine was named the top player in the Big Ten.

Following a two-game stretch where he averaged 28.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists, Valentine earned his fourth Player of the Week honor. Valentine shot 50 percent from the field (21-for-42), as well as 50 percent from 3-point range (10-for-20). He also handed out 23 assists against just three turnovers.

Valentine began the week by scoring 27 points, grabbing eight rebounds and handing out 10 assists in an overtime loss at Purdue. He capped the week on Sunday with 30 points and a career-high 13 assists in a victory at home over Indiana.
