Indianapolis — Dr. Larry Nassar, a former USA Gymnastics team physician accused of sexually abusing two gymnasts, faces 16 more abuse complaints at Michigan State University, where he was a faculty member.
The Indianapolis Star obtained Michigan State University police reports filed this month for abuse allegations since 1996. The newspaper cites interviews with four women claiming Nassar penetrated them with his finger during what were supposed to be medical treatments.
Nassar hasn’t been charged and denies wrongdoing. His attorneys say in a statement that he’d used a legitimate medical procedure.
He was fired from the university last week for not complying with “certain employment requirements.”
Nassar was accused of sexually groping and fondling an Olympic gymnast in a lawsuit filed in California. Another woman filed a complaint last month with university police.
