The Detroit News

Former Michigan wide receiver Freddy Canteen will join Notre Dame’s team as a graduate transfer and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining starting in 2017.
Canteen wrote on Instagram: “Trust yourself when all men doubt you. But make allowance for their doubting too. Thank you Lord. God, Country, Notre Dame. #Committed #GoIrish”
Canteen (6-1, 185) was part of Michigan’s 2014 recruiting class and earned a varsity letter that season by appearing in 10 games, with two starts. He had five catches for 22 yards and one touchdown.
As a sophomore in 2015, Canteen appeared in just five games, with one catch. He missed the 2016 season following shoulder surgery.
