MSU’s Jankoska earns Big Ten player of the week honors

A triple-double and a victory over a rival helped Michigan State senior Tori Jankoska earn Big Ten women’s player of the week honors.

Jankoska averaged 26 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 3.5 blocks in two victories last week for the Spartans (18-9, 8-6 Big Ten). She also shot 54.3 percent from the field, including 45.8 percent from 3-point rage.

The former Freeland standout collected her first career triple-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in an 85-69 victory over Minnesota last Thursday, and poured in a game-high 28 points in Sunday’s 86-68 victory at then-No. 20 Michigan.

Jankoska averages 22.3 points per game, which ranks third in the Big Ten.

It is Jankoska’s third career player of the week honor.
