UM hires Kevin Lempa as senior defensive analyst

Kevin Lempa, most recently defensive coordinator at Hawaii, joins Michigan's football staff as senior defensive analyst.
"Kevin is a great addition to our football program and defensive staff," Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said in a release Wednesday. "He adds a wealth of experience and knowledge on the defensive side of the ball, and Kevin's working relationship with Coach (Don) Brown will be a big asset for our team.”
The senior defensive analyst position is a non-coaching role. Lempa replaces Rick Finotti, who is now the head coach at John Carroll.
Lempa worked with Brown, Michigan's defensive coordinator, at Boston College and Maryland.
"I am very excited and honored to become part of Coach Harbaugh's staff," Lempa said. "I am also fired up to be working with Coach Brown again."
