Michigan State football to play Toledo in 2020
Michigan State has finalized its non-conference football schedule for 2020 with the University of Toledo announcing it will face the Spartans on Sept. 19 in East Lansing.
It will be only the second time the teams have faced each other, with the first game coming back in 1925.
“We are very pleased and excited to add Michigan State to our 2020 football schedule,” Toledo athletic director Mike O’Brien said. “The Spartans have a tradition of excellence so it definitely will be another exciting matchup for our football team and our fans. It’s also a short drive from Toledo, so I’m sure Rocket Nation will be well-represented at Spartan Stadium.”
Michigan State is also scheduled to play at BYU on Sept. 12 and host Miami (Fla.) on Sept. 26. It creates an open date on Sept. 5, the first week of the seasons. Games were adjusted for 2017 to avoid a similar issue with a bye in the first week, meaning things could still change before the 2020 season.
