3-star Calif. athlete Parks Gissinger commits to MSU

The Michigan State football team went out west to pick up its newest commitment.
Parks Gissinger, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound athlete from Chaminade College Prep in West Hills, Calif., committed to Michigan State on Thursday. He is MSU’s 13th commitment for 2018 — and first from the Pacific time zone. Eight are from Ohio.
“... I am proud to announce that I’m committed to Michigan State University,” Gissinger posted on Twitter.
Gissinger is a three-star prospect according to Scout and 247sports who plays defensive end for Chaminade. Scout ranks him the 10th-best athlete in California, and No. 43 nationally.
He had offers from Boston College, Colorado State, Iowa State, Kentucky, San Diego State, Syracuse and Vanderbilt, among others.
