Another day, another Michigan State football commit.
The Spartans continued their 2019 recruiting haul on Friday as Anthony Williams Jr., a three-star running back from Chicago, announced his pledge to the Spartans on Twitter.
"Thanks to every coach who has recruited me to play at the next level. I appreciate every word of advice," Williams tweeted. "After much prayer, thought & discussion with my family (esp. my big sis), I'm humbled & excited to announce that I am committing to Michigan State University!!! #GoGreen #GoWhite #Spartans #FlightCrewU"
Williams (6-foot, 191 pounds) is rated the No. 16 prospect in Illinois, No. 58 running back nationally and No. 945 overall prospect in the nation in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He chose Michigan State over offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Central Michigan and Western Michigan, among others.
Williams is the 14th verbal commit for Michigan State's 2019 class and fourth in five days, following three-star Chicago Simeon athlete Alante Brown, three-star Euclid (Ohio) running back Brandon Wright and five-star Belleville offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs.
