Michigan State had a one-in-three shot at landing Mansfield (Texas) Legacy three-star defensive end Taurean Carter.

But the odds were probably longer than that.

Carter picked Arkansas over fellow finalists Michigan State and Wisconsin on Wednesday night in a live stream he posted on Twitter.

He took only one official visit — to Arkansas earlier this month — during his recruitment, per 247Sports.

Carter (6-foot-3, 260 pounds) is rated the No. 45 strong-side defensive end, No. 73 prospect in Texas and No. 628 recruit in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
