Detroit News predictions: Michigan State football at Indiana

The Detroit News

Matt Charboneau, Angelique S. Chengelis, John Niyo and Bob Wojnowski of The Detroit News predict the outcome of Saturday’s Michigan State-Indiana game at Memorial Stadium (noon, FS1/760).

Matt Charboneau: The Spartans surely won't forget they were shut out last year by the Hoosiers and many of the pieces from that Indiana defense are back. Sure, the Hoosiers have struggled this season and quarterback Michael Penix Jr. seems unlikely to play, but that doesn't mean this is merely a tune-up headed into the bye week. MSU will need to keep its high-powered offense rolling because Jack Tuttle is a capable backup at quarterback and with plenty of weapons, the Hoosiers could be dangerous coming off their bye. Still, the Spartans have yet to be slowed for an entire game, and this won't likely be the first. Michigan State, 35-24
