Michigan State junior forward Mackenzie MacEachern decided to forego his final year of eligibility on Wednesday and signed with the Blues.
MacEachern (6-foot-3, 205 pounds), who starred at Birmingham Brother Rice, was a third-round draft pick of the Blues in 2012.
“I’m excited to move forward, but I’ll really miss MSU because of all the support,” MacEachern said.
He had 14 goals and 16 assists for the Spartans this past season and 33 goals and 35 assists for his career.
“Mackenzie’s game has progressed significantly over the past three seasons and it’s great to see him develop into a player that will compete at the NHL level,” Spartans coach Tom Anastos said.
