MSU lands another 4-star at The Opening – Cass Tech’s Reid

Jordan Reid, a four-star offensive lineman from Detroit Cass Tech, on Saturday night committed to Michigan State during The Opening Finals in Beaverton, Oregon.
Reid (6-5, 270) is a tremendous addition to the Spartans' 2017 recruiting class, as he also was being heavily recruited by rival Michigan.
Reid narrowed his top five in April to MSU, Michigan, Florida, Tennessee and Pittsburgh.
Reid, who made The Detroit News' All-Metro Detroit first team last season, is ranked the No. 1 guard in Michigan by Scout.com and the No. 18 guard in the nation.
“I love Michigan State,” Reid told Scout’s Jacquie Franciulli in April when he cut his list to five schools. “(Offensive line) Coach (Mark) Staten, (receivers) coach (Terrence) Samuel and (head) coach (Mark) Dantonio are real cool guys. I've been there for three football games. There is just something about the Spartans that I like. Of course, Demetric Vance is going there; I have a good relationship with him so I'm starting to get a feel for it.”
Trieu: MSU reels in a big one – 4-star TE Matt Dotson
Vance, who also went to Cass Tech, is a receiver and safety in MSU's incoming 2016 recruiting class.
This is the second four-star prospect to commit to MSU during The Opening Finals, following Cincinnati Moeller tight end Matt Dotson on Thursday.
