Former Michigan State star basketball star Draymond Green will not be required to appear for an arraignment on his misdemeanor assault charge, according to court records.

Attorney James T. Heos of Lansing requested the waiver for Green and it was approved, 54B District Court documents show.

Green was arrested early Sunday by East Lansing police near the intersection of Grand River and Abbot, near MSU’s campus. He was taken into custody and released later Sunday on $200 bond.

Green allegedly assaulted another male; East Lansing police said there were no injuries resulting from the incident.

Green’s arraignment had been scheduled for July 20. Green, who plays for the Golden State Warriors, is expected to be in Las Vegas July 18-22 for a pre-Olympic camp with the U.S. national basketball team.
