Authorities trying to track down Auston Robertson

As of Saturday morning, Meridian Township Police were still looking for Auston Robertson after the former Michigan State football player after a warrant  was issued for his arrest on Friday in a sexual assault case.

According to the department’s website, they are looking to detain Robertson on a valid felony warrant and are asking for the public’s help in tracking him down.

Robertson, who was dismissed from the football team by coach Mark Dantonio on Friday, is the center of an investigation where a woman said she was assaulted in her apartment on April 9. During a hearing on Friday in 55th District Court to authorize charges, detective Rebecca Payne testified Robertson had acknowledged his return to his home state of Indiana for four days.

As of Friday afternoon, Robertson, who played seven games as a freshman in 2016 and participated in the spring game on April 1, had not been arraigned.
