Long Beach State will be one of the nonconference opponents to visit the Breslin Center this upcoming season.

It will be a few months before the entire schedule is announced, but it appears Michigan State has added a nonconference opponent for a visit to the Breslin Center.

According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Long Beach State will play at Michigan State this season.

Long Beach State lost in the first round of the NIT in 2017 after a fourth-place finish in the Big West. Its last appearance in the NCAA Tournament came in 2012.

The non-conference schedule has slowly been trickling out and is the first game revealed that will be played at the Breslin Center. The Spartans are likely to host an ACC/Big Ten Challenge game but that has yet to be announced.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Michigan State would not play at Florida as originally planned. That game will be moved to 2018-19 as part of a home-and-home series with the Gators, who played at Michigan State in 2015.

The Spartans will face Duke in the Champions Classic and take part in the Phil Knight Invitational in late November in Portland, Oregon. They will also take on Oakland Dec. 16 as part of a doubleheader at Little Caesars Arena with Michigan and Detroit playing in the other game.
