Michigan State's Jaren Jackson Jr. has been named Big Ten freshman of the week for the third time this season.

Michigan State forward Jaren Jackson Jr. has been named Big Ten freshman of the week for a third time this season.

The 6-foot-11 forward from Carmel, Ind., averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in a pair of games this week, including a career-high 19 points in an 82-72 loss against Michigan. He also had six blocks and three rebounds.

Jackson scored 16 while grabbing five rebounds and had two blocks in the Spartans' 76-72 overtime win against Rutgers last week.

The La Porte La Lumiere (Ind.) School product is one of only 16 players to be named conference freshman of the week three times in one season.
