Four-star combo guard Mark "Rocket" Watts announced his commitment to Michigan State on social media  Saturday.

Watts, who transferred to Spire Academy in suburban Cleveland from Old Redford High earlier this year, is ranked as the No. 1 player in Ohio and the No. 4 combo guard by 247Sports Composite.

Watts is MSU's first commitment for the 2019 recruiting class.

Oregon, Xavier, Alabama and Cincinnati were among the schools in the hunt for the 6-foot-1½, 174 pound guard, who is the No. 32-ranked player in the nation by 247Composite.

Watts would have been a Mr. Basketball Award candidate had he remained in the state of Michigan.
