UM's Jake Ryan, Matt Wile claim Big Ten awards

Michigan linebacker Jake Ryan and kicker Matt Wile have been recognized by the Big Ten for their contributions in the Wolverines' 18-13 win over Penn State.

Ryan was named Big Ten co-defensive player of the week with Minnesota linebacker Damien Wilson. Ryan had 10 tackles, three for loss and one sack, in the win over the Nittany Lions. Ryan and the Wolverines limited Penn State to 54 yards rushing.

Wile is the Big Ten co-special teams player of the week with Minnesota kick returner Jalen Myrick. Wile had field goals of 45, 42 and 37 yards. He now has seven career field goals of 40-plus yards.
