The Michigan basketball team hasn't had a stellar start to the season, but the Wolverines' Big Ten opener at the Crisler Center on Tuesday is expected to be a sellout.

Michigan is playing Illinois and ticket sales picked up beginning Saturday.

But we can say with some confidence the sellout is not about basketball.

Michigan is expected to announce Jim Harbaugh as its next coach at a news conference on Tuesday and then at halftime of the Michigan-Illinois game, which tips off at 3 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

A week ago, tickets on StubHub for the game were plentiful and as low as $30. But on Saturday, as news began circulating that Harbaugh would be leaving the San Francisco 49ers for Michigan, there were only 77 tickets for sale and the cheapest were $80. As of Sunday, there were about 180 tickets available for purchase with the cheapest about $130.

The Michigan basketball program posted a Tweet late Sunday saying its ticket allotment was sold out.
