'Maize Rage' to honor Harbaugh by dressing in khakis

The Detroit News

Jim Harbaugh is known for a lot of things — namely, being a good football coach and being, well, intense.

Then there are the khakis, the earth-toned slacks Harbaugh wears on the sidelines.

In honor of his attire, the Maize Rage, Michigan basketball's student section, is requesting all members show up for this afternoon's game against Illinois dressed in full khaki garb. The game is set for 3 p.m. at Crisler Center, and will feature a sellout. Once word got around that Harbaugh would be introduced to the crowd during the game, following his news conference to introduce him as football coach, ticket prices skyrocketed to between $100-plus and $3,000-plus.

Asked about the expected crowd, basketball coach John Beilein played coy Monday: "I think we'll have a great crowd regardless of if we have a coaching announcement."

Dockers, by the way, got in on the act Monday, tweeting to Harbaugh's wife, Sarah, that they carry pants in blue with the Michigan logo.
