Southern Cal has long been considered the favorite to land the nation's No. 1 cornerback, five-star Iman Marshall of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly Tech.
But Michigan, with new coach Jim Harbaugh, is making a late push, and Marshall is keeping his options open.
Marshall made an official visit to Michigan's campus earlier this month and on Monday, Harbaugh visited Marshall at his school. Long Beach Poly Tech athletic director Rob Shock posted a photo of the meeting on Instagram.
Marshall's three most recent visits have been to Florida State, Michigan and LSU. He was asked what he liked best about each school.
"At Florida State, the football atmosphere and the coaching staff is great," he told ESPN (pay site). "At Michigan, the networking and the new coaching hire. And LSU, that's DB U."
Marshall (6-2, 195) plans on announcing his college choice on ESPNU on Feb. 4, National Signing Day.
"Whatever happens, happens," he said. "I'm aware it's going to be a tough decision, but at the end of the day I have to do what's best for me. I hope all the coaches understand and respect my decision."
