Ann Arbor — Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh continues to finalize his support staff and has added St. Edward coach Rick Finotti as director of football operations.

Harbaugh made the announcement Friday during Michigan's two-day coaching clinic.

Finotti, who has coached the Cleveland-area team since 2009, is considered one of the elite coaches in northeast Ohio and surely is anticipated to give Harbaugh and his staff a bigger presence in Ohio.

He is the second hire Harbaugh has made from the high school coaching ranks. Chris Partridge from Paramus (N.J.) Catholic where Michigan redshirt freshman Jabrill Peppers played, is handling recruiting operations at Michigan.

Jim Minick has long been considered the UM director of operations, but he technically is associate athletic director for football.

Finotti led St. Edward to two state championships.
